Work UDA 8 is a high-output, full-range, frequency-shadowed passive column speaker designed to provide speech intelligibility and musical clarity in acoustically challenging environments such as shopping malls, places of worship, restaurants, conference halls, hotels, airports, train stations, swimming pools, and rooms where reflective surfaces create echoic fields like conference halls or museums. In a sealed enclosure, UDA 8 comprises eight 2.75" drivers with 0.75" voice coils. A patented IST (Interconnected Shadowing Topology) network is designed to maintain a fixed wavelength-column dimension ratio, providing controlled 20° vertical coverage in the audio range. This makes the UDA series suitable for installation in rooms where speech intelligibility is crucial and problematic sound reflections exist. The slim extruded aluminum enclosure is designed for seamless visual integration in any venue and is available in black or white finish. The grille is also made of aluminum and is internally covered with a protective, waterproof fabric that prevents ingress of splashing water and dust, achieving an IP 65 protection rating. The wall-mount accessory included allows the column to be aimed up or down towards the sides up to +/- 90° and in 2° increments from 0° to 10°. Each unit can be connected to a barrier strip or NL4 Speakon. The connections are protected by a weather-resistant metallic cover at the bottom, which prevents short circuits caused by water or humidity. The UDA 16 TL accessory (not included) enables the high-impedance connection of UDA 8. It features a high-quality 120Wrms@100V line transformer (60Wrms@70V), making it suitable for installations where long cable runs are required. Trim adjustments are available to improve frequency balance and intelligibility.
